70 Years of Waste Management: A Milestone Celebration

In 1954, our waste management journey began, and this year, we proudly celebrate seven decades of commitment to environmental stewardship.

From modest origins, we've evolved into a leading force in waste management, adapting to industry shifts and embracing innovative solutions. Our legacy is one of resilience, sustainability, and a dedication to shaping a circular economy.

With a focus on technology-driven advancements and responsible waste management, we're not just marking a milestone but reaffirming our commitment to a future where waste aligns seamlessly with environmental preservation.

Here's to 70 years, and a continued journey of pioneering sustainable waste solutions to Ensuring Tomorrow

Ensuring a Future for

Merri Creek: From

Degradation to Renewal

Merri Creek provides a natural habitat for many species and serves as a beautiful retreat for city dwellers. However, some areas are degraded and in need of restoration. Pollution and urban expansion also threaten its ecological health.

The Merri Creek Management Committee (MCMC) is committed to preserving the creek's natural and cultural heritage. They focus on the careful restoration, development, and upkeep of Merri Creek, and its surrounding ecosystems.

Supporting Each Other:

R U OK? Day Promotes

Mental Well-being

Mental health in the workplace is vital for employee well-being and productivity. Prioritising mental health creates a positive work environment, boosting job satisfaction, engagement, and productivity. That is why Speedie Waste & Recycle is a big advocator for the R U Ok? Charity initiative.

R U Ok? Day is on Thursday 12 September, 2024. But don't wait until then, start now to check in with family, friends and colleagues to ask them, "R U Ok?". Remember a conversation could change a life.

FOOD TO ENERGY RECYCLING

FOOD TO ENERGY:

IT STARTS WITH OUR SPEEDIE

FAMILY

Meet Adrian and Marie, proud grandchildren of Speedie Waste & Recycle's founder, Francesco Barilla.

They are pictured together out on one of our Organic Food Waste Recycling collection runs - Food Waste to Energy.

The Food Waste to Energy recycling process differs from our Organic Composting Recycling service. Rather than making compost, this food waste is processed and converted into heat and energy that is used to power Melbourne homes.
