SPEEDIE NEWS & UPDATES

COVID-19 (your business during lockdowns)

Please be advised that Speedie Waste & Recycle provides an essential service and will NOT be closed in the event of a stand down / lock down.

What is recommended and in place at Speedie Waste & Recycle:
In light of the recent Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Speedie Waste and Recycle is committed to keeping its staff and customers safe during this time. Our actions are directed by the Department of Health guidelines.

We are taking the recommended preventative steps, including symptom monitoring of staff, hygiene and social distancing. Our fleet staff, who may be in contact with customers at their sites, and our office based team, are double vaccinated as a minimum requirement. Many are also tripled vaccinated.

Additional Measures Recommended by Speedie Waste & Recycle:

Here is our recommended and best practice advice to minimise and prevent illness and maintain good hygiene:

  • Odour Control Pods: used to control the microbes in the air that you breathe by absorbing airborne bacteria. Can be used inside bins, cupboards and small spaces.

  • Probiotic Cleaner: used to clean surfaces and hands by placing a film layer of good bacteria on surfaces for protection.

  • Bin Wash, Deodorisation & Sanitisation: we can clean your bins using fresh hot water to prevent cross contamination from bin to bin and preventing the spread of germs.

Personal Hygiene

What you need to do:

  1. Please alert us if your business has been affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. We request this as a safety measure for our employees.

  2. Please inform us if your service needs will change or temporarily pause.

FOOD TO ENERGY RECYCLING

FOOD TO ENERGY:

IT STARTS WITH OUR SPEEDIE

FAMILY

Meet Adrian and Marie, proud grandchildren of Speedie Waste & Recycle's founder, Francesco Barilla.

They are pictured together out on one of our Organic Food Waste Recycling collection runs - Food Waste to Energy.

The Food Waste to Energy recycling process differs from our Organic Composting Recycling service. Rather than making compost, this food waste is processed and converted into heat and energy that is used to power Melbourne homes.
